Interesingy after the install aborts it is possible to run InstallBuilder but it appears that some of the library/support folders are missing from the C:Program Files (x86)Wise InstallBuilder 8.1 folder when compared with the 8.03 installation on the XP computer. However the file is present and I am running the installer as administrator and have set permissions on this file to Full Control and it still gives the same error and aborts the install. It reports “ The file c:windowsSystem32atl.dll could not be opened“. The error is with the installer of InstallBuilder itself. The install gets to the point of copying files but gives an error. I obtained an unopened box with InstallBuilder 8.12 from the secondary market and am trying to install on Win7. I’m trying to migrate to a Win7 computer. The development project resides on a computer running XP. I am maintaining a legacy Visual Basic 6.0 OCX control that uses InstallBuilder 8.03.
