The seraph leaving at the end is because Sorey is staying to purify and protect Maotelus until the amount of malevolence is low enough that Maotelus won't be corrupted again. (Yes, sometimes, I can go without it being stocked for 30+ Battles, even though all the merchants (save for "Peddler" which I don't even know where they are) I have at 3 Star and have item ordering enabled. The seraphs job was to sever the link between heldalf and maotelus which they did successfully as seen by heldalf reverting back to his normal self after going dragon mode.
